Make yourself one outfit from top to bottom. Choose between a sleeveless cami and a woven t-shirt with cap sleeves, as well as pull-on cropped pants or shorts with an elasticated back. Pants/Shorts come in a mid-rise or high-waisted version.

What will you learn?

In the first session, we will find your size, trace the pattern, cut all the fabrics and do any prep-work such as apply interfacing and overlock necessary edges.

In the second session, we will sew the shorts or pants. You will sew pleats in the front pieces of your shorts/pants and also sew an elasticated waistband with a flat front.

In the last session, we will finish your outfit and sew the cami or woven t-shirt. If you sew the cami, you will get comfortable with sewing a v-neck and attach straps. For the woven t-shirt you will get familiar with bias binding and set-in sleeves.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is suitable for adults who have good knowledge of sewing and has previously sewn simple garments or home decor projects and is confident with a sewing machine. I like to keep workshop sizes small, giving you lots of one on one time and the opportunity to ask as many questions as you like. The maximum workshop size is 6.

What is included in the course? And what do I have to bring?

We will be using the Emerson pattern by True Bias for the bottom, you can choose between making shorts and cropped pants. For the top part of the outfit, you can choose between a sleeveless cami, the Ogden Cami by True Bias, or a woven t-shirt pattern with cap sleeves, the Scout Tee by Grainline Studio.

I will also provide the elastic for your shorts and pants.

Please bring fabric. The shorts or pants work great in Linen, Chambray, Cotton or even Rayon. For the top, please bring light-weight fabric such as Cotton Lawn or Voile, Crepe or Rayon if you want to challenge yourself or light-weight linens or chambrays would work great.
